One of the more interesting pieces of advice I've ever received was from a fellow DJ who advised me: if I ever wanted to take deejaying further and con sider it as a career, that I should go out at least once in the day in the week, so that the neighbours won't think I'm a "serial killer"! I thought the advice strange till I started developing habits like: sleeping all day; leaving my house at night; carrying heavy equipment and loading it at the boot of taxis; and arriving home at the crack of dawn. Not knowing my neighbours might be another problem. When you are enjoying your hobby at unsociable hours, you don't have time to do the rounds to the neighbours to borrow a cup of sugar! It could be quite embarrassing for the neighbours to call the police, and having to explain to them that, you're just a deejay and that there's no need to be alarmed.
